LUNCHEON MEETING

 

 

Our Monthly Luncheons are held on the first Thursday of each month. Information about this month's Luncheon and Program are detailed below.

 

MEMBERS must make their reservation by noon on Wednesday, March 25th, per our usual procedure as outlined in the monthly newsletter. 

 

NON-MEMBERS must make their reservation by noon on Monday, March 23rd, and a pre-paid reservation is required to guarantee seating. If you would like to attend please contact our Reservations Chairperson at mary@welcomeclubnvirginia.com.

 

All venues are within Fairfax County and Loudoun County, the exact location will be provided once the reservation has been confirmed.

Luncheon Program

 

Liz Buser

Senior Advisor for Fraud Prevention Programs

at AARP's National Office in D.C.

 

 

Ms. Buser will explore the latest fraud trends and how you and your loved ones can feel empowered with the knowledge to stay safe. Her presentaion will include vides and audio featuring fraud victims' stories.

 

Ms. Buser works with internal and external partners to empower consumers in spotting scams and fraud. She also manages the AARP Fraud Victim Support Group whch provides a safe space for fraud victims to heal from the emotional impact of victimization. She has a long professional history of focusing on fraud awareness and other consumer issues as a member of AARP's Program Design and Financial Resilience teams.

     >  The most prevalent scams which include: check washing, government and business impostor schemes, bank impersonators, cryptocurrency investment fraud, tech support scams, and relationship scams.
